iFilm English TV to start airing ‘Mirza Koochack Khan’

Iranian series ‘Mirza Koochack Khan’ has been scheduled to go on iFilm English TV Channel’s playlist.

Airing of the series, directed by Behrouz Afkhami, will be started on August 5, 2026.

‘Mirza Koochack Khan’ is about imperial aggressors who had their eyes during the First World War on Iran, a country dealing with the aftermath of the turmoil caused by its recent constitutional revolution.

It was a time when the country was not only invaded by famine and confusion, but also by two fronts of the war: the Russian Tsar on one side and Britain on the other.

With the government in tatters, it was up to the courageous people to defend their homeland. So movements were initiated all around the country.

One of the most effective movements took place in the province of Guilan, where a local hero named Mirza Koochak Khan and his followers took shelter in the jungles as they fought to protect their beloved Iran.

The most notable on the cast list are Jahangir Almasi, Sirous Gorjestani, Davoud Rashidi, Mehdi Hashemi, Fath-Ali Oveisi, Alireza Mojallal, Hossein Mahjoub, Parvanheh Masoumi, Abbas Amiri-Moqaddam, Behrouz Baqaee, Mohammad Motee, Esmaeel Mehrabi, and Jamshid Gorgin.

‘Mirza Koochack Khan’, produced in 1987, is to replace the series ‘At a Crossroads’ to be broadcast at 22:00 GMT.

iFilm English TV will also repeat each episode of the series the following day at 04:00, 10:00 and 16:00. ‘Mirza Koochack Khan’ is comprised of 12 episodes.
